Cancellation of your reservation

The cancellation policy applicable to your reservation depends on the rate selected at the time of booking.

Standard Rate

Cancellation is free of charge until 15:00 Curaçao time, 3 days before the scheduled arrival date. After this deadline, the reservation is non-refundable and the full reservation amount remains payable.

Flexible 7 Days

Cancellation is free of charge until 15:00 Curaçao time, 7 days before the scheduled arrival date. For cancellations made after this deadline but more than 24 hours before 15:00 on the scheduled arrival date, 50% of the reservation amount will be refunded. For cancellations made within 24 hours of 15:00 on the scheduled arrival date, the reservation is non-refundable and the full reservation amount remains payable.

Non-Refundable Rate

Once the reservation has been made, it is non-refundable and the full reservation amount remains payable.

Early Booker Rate

Once the reservation has been made, it is non-refundable and the full reservation amount remains payable.

Last-Minute Rate

Once the reservation has been made, it is non-refundable and the full reservation amount remains payable.

Other Rates

Unless a different cancellation policy has been expressly agreed in writing between Villa Amalie and the guest, organisation or other legal entity making the reservation, all other rates are non-refundable once the reservation has been made and the full reservation amount remains payable.

No-show and early departure

A no-show is treated as a cancellation after the applicable cancellation deadline. No refund or credit is provided for unused nights if a guest arrives later than scheduled or departs before the scheduled departure date, unless otherwise agreed in writing by Villa Amalie.

Changes to non-refundable reservations

Non-refundable reservations cannot be freely changed to another room, apartment, accommodation type, rate or date. Any change accepted by Villa Amalie is an exception and may be subject to availability, a change fee and any applicable difference in rate. Rates advertised for new reservations do not automatically apply when changing an existing non-refundable reservation.

Payment

Payment will be collected in accordance with the payment and cancellation conditions applicable to the rate selected at the time of reservation, regardless of any general payment information displayed by a booking engine, agent or other intermediary. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all reservations must be paid in full no later than 24 hours before arrival. Failure to make payment when due may result in the loss of any applicable discount and/or cancellation of the reservation in accordance with the applicable cancellation policy.

Reserved Stay Flexibility © – Direct Reservations Only

All reservations made directly with Villa Amalie include our Reserved Stay Flexibility ©. This benefit is designed to assist guests who are involuntarily unable to arrive as planned because of circumstances such as flight cancellation, flight interruption, denied boarding or an involuntarily missed flight connection. Reserved Stay Flexibility is not a cancellation policy and does not provide a cash refund. It allows qualifying guests to change their stay subject to the conditions below.

More than 14 days before arrival

The reservation dates may be changed once to new dates falling within 12 months of the originally scheduled arrival date. A change fee of USD 25 applies, together with any increase in the accommodation rate for the new dates. No refund or credit is provided if the new dates have a lower rate or result in fewer nights being used.

From 14 days until 3 days before arrival

The scheduled arrival may be changed by up to 2 days. A change fee of USD 25 applies, together with any increase in the accommodation rate. No refund or credit is provided for a lower rate or unused days.

Less than 3 days before arrival and until the scheduled arrival date

The scheduled arrival may be changed by up to 1 day. A change fee of USD 50 applies, together with any increase in the accommodation rate. No refund or credit is provided for a lower rate or unused days.

Conditions of coverage

Guests are responsible for remaining informed about the travel, immigration, visa, health and transportation requirements applicable to their journey and for following instructions issued by airlines, governmental authorities and other relevant organisations. Reserved Stay Flexibility does not apply when a guest is unable to travel because they failed to comply with requirements that were reasonably known or available to them, such as obtaining a required visa or travel document. Where requirements change after booking in circumstances that made compliance reasonably impossible, Villa Amalie will consider the guest eligible in accordance with the conditions above, subject to appropriate documentation.

Documentation

The guest must provide any documentation reasonably required by Villa Amalie to evaluate a request under Reserved Stay Flexibility ©. By submitting a request, the guest authorises Villa Amalie to contact the relevant airline, transportation provider or other organisation solely for the purpose of verifying the circumstances giving rise to the request.

Exclusions

Reserved Stay Flexibility does not apply when the guest wishes to change the reservation for convenience, personal preference or a medical condition. Reservations made through Booking.com, another online travel agency, travel agent or other third party are not covered by Reserved Stay Flexibility ©.

If Villa Amalie is unable to provide the reserved accommodation

If Villa Amalie is unable to provide the reserved accommodation for reasons within its responsibility, Villa Amalie may offer suitable alternative accommodation, alternative dates or a refund of the affected accommodation charges. Villa Amalie will make reasonable efforts to find an appropriate solution taking into account the accommodation originally reserved and the circumstances of the guest.

Tours and activities provided by third parties

Tours, excursions and other activities provided by third-party operators are subject to the payment, cancellation, operating and participation conditions of the respective provider. Villa Amalie may assist with arranging such services but does not replace or override the terms and conditions of the actual service provider.

Transportation and other services provided by Villa Amalie

Airport transfers

Airport transfers cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time are non-refundable.

Other transportation

Other transportation services may be cancelled without charge until 2 hours before the scheduled pickup time. Transportation requested less than 2 hours before the scheduled pickup time is non-refundable once confirmed.

Other services and extras

Other services and extras are non-refundable when cancelled less than 24 hours before their scheduled delivery or use, or once the relevant product, preparation or service has already been purchased, produced, prepared or commenced specifically for the reservation.

General

Any exception, modification or waiver of these conditions must be confirmed in writing by Villa Amalie. Where a reservation has been made through a third party, the conditions applicable to that reservation may also be governed by the terms agreed through that third party.
